FAQs

Why do you choose to use the PRESTIGE® Cervical Disc over the standard of care you use now?

Dr. Rick Sasso
Indianapolis, IN
Because of better outcomes and that it allows normal range of motion. The prospective, randomized FDA trial shows that patients who have a cervical disc replacement do better over all measures compared to the anterior cervical fusion.
Dr. Joseph Stachniak
Plano, TX
Although cervical fusion surgery is a good procedure, I choose to use the PRESTIGE® Cervical Disc in appropriate patients because it allows them to maintain motion at the treated level.
Dr. Paul Broadstone
Chattanooga, TN
Choosing the disc replacement over the standard of care — fusion — is very dependent on the disease process, the medical status of the patient and the expected usage or lifestyle of the patient.
Dr. Todd Lanman
Los Angeles, CA
I'll be using the PRESTIGE® Cervical Disc in all appropriate surgeries that I can get authorization for to preserve motion of the spine.
Dr. Vincent Traynelis
Iowa City, IA
In the appropriate patient, the PRESTIGE® Cervical Disc may offer a quicker recovery and maintain neck motion.
Dr. Todd Bonvallet
Chattanooga, TN
I prefer an artificial cervical disc over an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) because it allows us to preserve motion. Our hopes are that the artificial disc will allow patients to maintain their original range of motion.
Dr. Praveen Mummaneni
San Francisco, CA
To maintain motion in the neck.
Dr. Richard Fessler
Chicago, IL
Hopefully, we will be able to maintain motion of the cervical spine over the long-term.
